Since 2009, the Downtown Food Pantry has served the hungry of Lamar County, Texas. Our area has one of the highest food-insecurity rates in the state at 23%. This means almost 1 in 4 or 12,250 people in our community are "struggling to avoid hunger." 

In 2022 we served:

People: 10,461​​   Families: 4,112

(20% of Lamar County population)

Nutritious Meals: 1.3 million

Pounds of Food: 1.6 million

Distribute more than just food to those in need.

The Numbers

Open year-round. We distribute groceries 2 days a week. Customers are able to receive assistance every other week. 

Open to customers:

Tuesday: 1:30-4:30 pm

Thursday: 8:30-11:30 am

Senior Food Box (age 60+) given out the 2nd Monday of each month from 9-11 a.m.

We have satellite pantries in Blossom, Powderly, and Roxton.
